Senran Kagura (閃乱カグラ) is a series of ninja-themed games created by Marvelous, mainly focuses action games, as well as gravures and beach spin-off games, centering mostly playable female characters. It started out as Nintendo only series prior being presumably rebooted to a new timeline, first released on PlayStation family before being ported later to Microsoft Windows, followed by Nintendo Switch. It is one of the three original video game series to have animation adaptions aside BlazBlue and Persona. Estival Versus was the last main action series game, with the current games outside remakes after Estival Versus are not action games.
Prior BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Senran Kagura first entered the fighting game scene in Nitroplus Blasterz, with Homura is the first representative. Aerial Rave is their exclusive main mechanics, similar to Arcana Heart's Homing, but in different ways. Currently, Marvelous also involved with Arc System Works on developing CyGames’ Granblue Fantasy Versus.
