Noel Vermillion (Successor of Azure or The Calamity Trigger), also known by her birth Prime Field Device name Mu-12 (Sword of the Godslayer) and formerly known by her original identity, Saya, is a playable character and the main heroine in the BlazBlue series and the titular character of her game debut.
She returns as a playable character in BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, sporting her post-Continuum Shift appearance.
Bio[]
A second lieutenant in the NOL. She was originally one of Saya’s replicas designate “Dimensional Boundary Contact Prime Field, No. 12”, codename Mu-12, and happens to have the half of Saya’s soul. As a child without recollections of her memories as Mu, including those of Saya’s, she was originally found in the ruins of Ibukido and adopted in the Vermillion family, named her “Noel”. Wanting to help support her family, she eventually entered into the NOL's military academy. Because she dislikes violence, she originally tried to vie for a position away from the battlefield after graduating but due to her exceptionally high Ars Magus rating, she was assigned to Jin Kisaragi's squad and acted as his secretary. After Jin went AWOL to pursue Ragna the Bloodedge, she was tasked with finding him and would go on to unravel the further mystery of her peculiar origins besides her true identity as Mu.

- Due to both being Saya’s clones, Noel shares her voice actresses, both Japanese and English, with her fellow Prime Field sister, Nu-13.
- Noel has color palettes of the following characters: Elphelt Valentine (Guilty Gear (REVELATOR version)), Hades Izanami (BlazBlue), Maya Amano (Persona 2), Nanase (Under Night In-Birth) Lie Ren (RWBY), and Anna (Frozen (white-haired version)).
- Noel's title, Successor of Azure, references her status as the Eye of the Azure, as only she can perceive the Azure as well as being able to summon the Master Unit Amaterasu.
- In the early trailer of the finalized starting full Season 2/Special Edition, Noel wasn't shown and has 2 Rachels instead at the end prior the post-streaming trailer release fixes it.
