Carl Clover (Vigilant Drop-Out) is a character from the Blazblue series, first appearing in Blazblue: Calamity Trigger.
He returns in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle as one of the Season 2 DLC playable characters, after the initial expansion's release.
Bio[]
A talented young boy who was a student at the Military Academy, and is a classmate of Noel Vermillion, Jin Kisaragi, Makoto Nanaya, and Tsubaki Yayoi, but dropped out without warning while Jin and Noel graduated and became a first class bounty hunter (AKA vigilante) who has brought many rebels to justice with the aid of his mysterious puppet called Nirvana, whom Carl believes to be his elder sister, Ada Clover. Currently, he is after the bounty of Ragna the Bloodedge and the Azure Grimoire. Carl wants to get revenge on his father Relius Clover, for what he did to Ada. In some part of his story, Carl meetsBang Shishigami, and Bang calls him his "cute little disciple."
Carl is unwilling to see that Ada is in fact Deus Ex Nirvana (AKA Machine God: Nirvana), a Nox Nyctores in the form of a marionette, often blamed for "Insanity" in the user when in fact it only amplifies its owner's preexisting desire to kill, similar to Jin's sword and Noel's pistol. Nirvana's previous wielder was Celica Ayatsuki Mercury. After several people attempted to disassemble or remove Nirvana from him, Carl has become extremely paranoid and possessive over his "sister." In the end it is unknown whether Carl is insane or if Nirvana is truly Carl's sister.
