Bio[]
Kagura is a unique and eternal being who repeatedly reincarnates every 100 years solely to eradicate Yōma. Records of her date back as far as 900 years. She gains power and advances in stages to become more powerful. To do so, she needs to consume Red Orbs from Yōma she defeats.
While on a school trip, the Hanzo Academy team found her being chased by yōma and saved her. At first glance, she speaks like a child, but she says things that no child would. Lacking almost any ability to defend herself, she relies on her guardian Naraku for protection. Once Kagura reaches he final form, she loses all her memories and becomes solely focused on destroying the Yoma. Once she has destroyed an unknown amount of them, her body will wither away and return to the Reincarnation Sphere for 100 years. It is then Naraku's duty to reclaim the sphere and pass it on to the next guardian. Upon learning this, the Hanzo Academy team vow to find a way to save Kagura from her fate.
Kagura is acquainted with the Mikaruga sisters, having known them since they were younger. Kagura tried to save the Mikaruga sister's village from a yoma attack by telling them to evacuate the it, but they didn't believe her, and were afraid of confessing to the adults that they had broken the village's rules by interacting with an outsider, and told no one. In the end, Kagura was consumed by a Yōma while defending the sisters and their village. The chance to meet her again and apologize for causing her death is the reason Renka, Hanabi, and Kafuru are volunteering to help Asuka's grandmother, Sayuri, hold the Millenium Kagura Festival and working toward becoming Kagura (the highest possible rank for shinobi) themselves.
