Yagyū (One-Eyed Guardian) is one of the main characters from the Senran Kagura series, who debuted in the first game of the first timeline, Senran Kagura: Portrait of Girls, prior being demoted as a supporting character in the second/new timeline as of Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus.
She made her first fighting game debut in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, where she is one of the Season 2 DLC playable characters.
Bio[]
A first year and a member of the elite class of students of Hanzo National Academy, a prestige school for good shinobi. Yagyū came from an average shinobi family and had a strong relationship with her younger sister Nozomi, who admired her older sister's devotion to becoming a shinobi. Unfortunately, Nozomi was involved in a car accident and died because her injuries were too severe. This incident would deeply hurt Yagyū, and the solitude that came with it, however, she knew and feared that the loss of her sister would eventually fade from her memory as time went on. So she wears an eyepatch made from her little sister's ribbon to remember her by.
When she arrived at Hanzo Academy, Yagyū met and befriended another first year named Hibari, who bore a striking resemblance to Nozomi. Yagyū's friendship with Hibari has turned into a sisterly bond, which helped get her out of her solitude a little, and she vowed to protect her new best friend, to a degree that Yagyū developed a "sister complex."
Trivia[]
- Yagyū has a very protective nature towards her best friend, Hibari, who is like a younger sister to her, similar to how Yu Narukami is very protective towards his cousin, Nanako Dojima. Thus, both Yu and Yagyū have a sister complex.
