Kei Asuma, whose alias is Bloody Chaos, or simply Chaos (Bloodstained Chaos), is one of the supporting characters who is a tactician who works for a presumable main antagonist faction, Amnesia, as its second in command. He is a playable character in the Under Night In-Birth series, making his first appearance in its first update title, Exe:Late.
He returns in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle as one of Season 2 DLC playable characters.
Bio[]
Chaos is a very good friend of Gordeau. He does all kinds of paper work and plans for Amnesia and rarely comes out of his own room. While his personality is calm and collected, he still often jokes around with Gordeau. However, Chaos tends to be a worrywart when it comes to Gordeau, and he sometimes disregards blunt tactics. However, in his past and on the battlefield, some know him by the nickname of the Bloodstained Chaos, a nickname even he isn't fond of. His simple name of "Chaos" however, was a last minute naming for himself upon his first direct encounter with Gordeau in the past.
According to Gordeau, Chaos was once a violent youngster, but Chaos disconfirms it and reveal how Gordeau recruited him. Gordeau has told Hilda that he he has never beaten Chaos in a fight, but Chaos himself denies it - meaning that Chaos has at least once fought and lost to Gordeau. Chaos changed his style and started to fight using intelligence instead of brute force, which places him in his current position in Amnesia focusing more on intel.
Prior to being recruited by Amnesia, Chaos had been long investigating the mysteries of Hollow Night, which he thought to be a rumor, until he finally believes it during his first night and survives to become an In-Birth. Overhearing Amnesia’s plan to invade Litch Kreis, Chaos snuck into the organization library, where he gain the stolen Book of Chaos to summon Azhi Dahaka, and able to avoid being captured by the executor, Orie Ballardiae. It turns out both Gordeau and Hilda knew Chaos’ presence and use him to invade Litch Kreis as a test to recruit him. Convinced by Gordeau’s charisma, Chaos accepts an offer to join Amnesia.
While he has helped Amnesia tremendously with his insight by much needed logistics, Chaos temporarily diverts his attention to helping Gordeau track down the Crimson Knight of Licht Kreis, whose name is Wagner, for killing Gordeau's friend, Roger, when he turned into a fallen Void during a turf war against a now defuncted Demon Society, while also doubling down in helping Hilda achieve her goal of becoming a Re-Birth. Since Gordeau’s departure from his full time job as an amnesia member from a result of Roger’s mercy kill at the hands of Wagner instead of by the Harvester, Chaos devices new rules to the group in order to avoid a same mistake as what happened to Roger, such as not to get closer to the Hollow Night’s Abyss, except those with great amounts of EXS control like Hilda can go near there.
After Chaos receives an unknown box from an unknown assailant recently, he hires an assassin whose clan use to belonged to Nights Blade, Seth. While giving the box to Seth, they discovers the box contains legendary daggers Eliminator. Chaos later have a little chat with a fellow member, Gaien Enkidu about the latter’s reason to join Amnesia and why he prefer uses his last name as a code name, similar how Chaos made a made-up code name during his met with Gordeau.
