Gaien Enkidu, last real name originally spelled Enkidō (The Sin-slaying Beast or The Maneater), is a recurring neutral character who is a member of a presumable main antagonist faction, Amnesia, who is also an infamously skilled martial artist who prefers to use his regular abilities over EXS. He was first alluded to in the original version of Under Night In-Birth and made his first physical appearance in Exe:Late. He became playable in the console version of Exe:Late[st].
He returns in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, as one of the Season 2 DLC playable characters.
Bio[]
Enkidu comes from a family which practices the ancient martial arts. In his youth, Enkidu taught under the guidance of a well respected master. However, one day, Enkidu's master fell sick and eventually died. Consumed by grief, Enkidu resolved to become as strong as possible and discover further knowledge through combat in honor of his late master. During this, Enkidu sought out and fought as many others he could. Soon, many feared him as the infamous Maneater and soon became so infamous that people started avoiding him out of fear. With no one else left to fight, Enkidu gained a desire to fight those who went beyond humanity, which led him to discover the Hollow Night.
From then, Enkidu immediately sought of the supposed "strongest In-Birth," revealed to be Gordeau the Harvester. In order to fight him, Enkidu searched for a Void in hopes to obtain the powers needed to fight him. When Enkidu found a Void and offered his arm to it, and when the Void bit down on it, Enkidu's hardened body kept the Void from biting deep, which caused a small amount of EXS to enter his body. Despite that, Enkidu kept fighting under the Night using nothing but the martial arts he has practiced his whole life. This information would get back to Hilda the Paradox, main leader of Amnesia, and she sought out Enkidu and offered him a spot in Amnesia, promising him he would be able to fight many strong opponents.
He was present during an assault on Ogre's Demon Society, and amongst many participants who were present witnessing the downfall of his ally Roger, now a Void Fallen. Once saving Hilda from the fallen Roger, Enkidu returns only to find his fallen ally beheaded mercilessly by Litch Kreis' Miyashiro Erika Wagner where an injured Gordeau witnessed this. Enkidu feels sorry for Gordeau's guilt and recent departure from being a full-time member, as Roger's death should have been by the latter's hand at mercy. He agree with Bloody Chaos' new rules to avoid Roger's incidents. Enkidu and his fellow Amnesia members will do anything they can to help out Gordeau, even he is no longer a full-time member to hunt down Wagner, due to Litch Kreis' Crimson Knight being too dangerous to live.
