Scharlachrot (Crimson Haired Valkyria), is one of the main characters in the Arcana Heart series, and where she was an unwilling secondary antagonist for the first-half of the third game sub-series, later return as a main anti-hero in its After Story storyline.
She returns in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle as one of the Season 2 DLC characters, after the initial expansion’s release.
Bio[]
Scharlachrot was one of the two girls alongside Weiss (when she was originally Sophie) who are genetically modified with respective artificial Arcanas, Baldur and Gottfried respectively into Valkyrias by Drexler Institute for their evil purposes. One of the fellow prisoners who are not entirely Valkyrias are Eko and the Hybride Minori Amanohara, with the latter was in a different cell. Until that day, Petra Johanna Lagerkvist rescues Weiss and her fellow prisoners (Minori included, but four of them unaware she was present) and to be raised as one of their agents to atone Drexler Institute’s sins. Somehow, Scharlachrot disappeared and brainwashed as Drexler Institute’s servant, turning her into a maniacal killer obsessed with Weiss, and will kill anyone who gets in her way between her and Weiss.
Once she is freed from the Drexler’s control, her true personality revealed to be more normal and more straight person than before the brainwashing, albeit a bit cynical. Although her violent nature, even when she was brainwashed remained intact.
Trivia[]
- She shares a same Japanese voice actress as the titular Senran Kagura character.
- Her team-up and eventual relationship with Carmine Prime is a nod to their English voice actors use to voice one of their characters in River City series, Misako and Kunio.
